Being surrounded by such amazing sights can cause one to take for granted, that they live in one of the most beautiful places in the world. Alaska is still so untouched and it offers so many great opportunities to just take in the incredible nature that surrounds us.
I headed out yesterday for a morning of photography and was pleasantly surprised when I realized that the temperature was a balmy 60 degrees. I headed over to the Mendenhall Glacier and spent about 30 or 40 minutes just grabbing some quick shots there. When I finished, I headed down to the Mendenhall River and was hoping to get some shots of the river flowing through the ice. Upon arriving, I saw 8 or 9 Bald Eagles feeding on a young deer carcass and was able to get a bunch of pictures without disturbing them. The eagles were content with their meal and were comfortable with my position on the bridge above them.
In all, it was a great day filled with some photography, driving around town with Erin and Noah and capped off with a family swim night at the community pool. Does it get any better?

Greetings from Juneau Daily Photo!
Thanks for visiting. I'm so glad to hear that you, Erin, Noah, and bebe boy no. 2 were able to get out on this amazing day a few weeks back. We took our kiddos out for a hike up West Glacier Trail that day. It was surreal!
Great eagle shots. That's how nature works.
